The Old (and haunted) Diplomat Hotel, Baguio City

It was my first time to visit this place in Dominican Hill. We went there with my friends at four o’clock in the afternoon (since we have to visit a nearby  establishment as a subject requirement).

I was amazed by the scenery because I am in love with old houses, antiques as well as history. As you approach the place, you will feel something unexplainable. Thanks to the carpenters that we have found there (they were there to do some renovations to the old hotel) who made us feel that it is okay to enter to the place.

On the first floor, nothing much is happening but then I saw some kind of a shadow on  the wall roaming around the left side of the building. I do not know if this is some kind of ghost but my friend said that she have seen it also. Then we climbed the stairs and felt really really strange on the second floor. The feeling was unexplainable. It’s like all the heavy things are on you while your hairs are pointing upwards. It’s like all eyes are on you.

We continued exploring the ruins until we have reached the cross. There you will see a beautiful view around the hotel grounds. We took some time to reflect our experiences while we are on the balcony.

It is interesting to visit some places that are historically famous like this one. History mentions that it was built in 1911 as a rest house and seminary. During the World War II, nuns and priests have been beheaded in the same place that is why apparitions of beheaded ghosts occur at night. There are also strange sounds heard during the day, voices of people screaming, cries of children and chains as if their suffering were still on.

If we will see and think clearly, it is much more of a historical than a haunted place for me. I pray for those whose spirits are left in the place and may they be in peace.

We went off the hotel after some moments and I felt some kind of relief after my feet stepped onto the outside grounds. The goosebumps are all worth the good experience.

Special Dayyyyyyy!

                                                                              April 20, 2012

So it’s my special day tomorrow! Yey, I’ll be 18! I am so excited to wake up so early and celebrate. I have so many plans for the day and for the whole year ahead. I’ll be able to register to vote for elections, I am of legal age by then and a lot more to expect! Gosh. What to do? What to wear? :)

I just really hope that everything will go well tomorrow. I hope it won’t rain because I do not plan to stay at home all day.

I love you guys! Thank you for being part of my 17th year on Earth.
